With Aston Villa in a position whereby the financial implications of failing to achieve promotion last season mean they’re having to make financial cutbacks, have Newcastle United thrown the towel in, when it comes to a possible transfer before the actual process has begun?
The reason we ask is that the local media, the Chronicle Live, are reporting that, although the club rates the player highly, they won’t be pursuing the possible acquisition of Jack Grealish.
As mentioned earlier, Aston Villa, due to their financial situation, will more than probably have to sell the talented 22-year-old.
But, it seems that, according to our source, Newcastle are reluctant to get involved in a transfer tussle.
With it being expected that more than half of the Premier League clubs are looking towards Grealish as a potential summer acquisition, Newcastle are, probably, fearful of an unsuccessful chase.
Or perhaps the truth is the potential fee of anywhere between £30-£40 million is out of our league under the current St James Park hierarchy.
If so, it doesn’t augur well for a major overhaul of the squad this summer does it!
