Newcastle reportedly keen to sign £4k-a/w ace, lots of fans react: ‘Ticks all of the boxes’

Sky Sports have claimed Newcastle are keen to sign Liverpool-owned midfielder Harry Wilson, who one fan claims ‘ticks all of the boxes’.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been on loan in the Championship this season, and is currently bound for the Play-Off Final at Wembley with Derby County, for whom he has represented 48 times across all competitions.

In his 42 outings in England’s second-tier, including the two-legged Semi-Final against Leeds United, Wilson has scored 16 goals and assisted a further four, despite Frank Lampard rarely restricting the £4,000-a-week ace to a single position.

We would also face competition from Derby – who are keen to see the Wrexham-born ace stay at Pride Park – Southampton and Brighton, while Crystal Palace are thought to be interested in what Wilson could offer them if Wilfried Zaha were to move on in the summer.

Bundesliga trio Augsburg, Hertha Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt, and several sides in Spain, are also said to be monitoring Wilson’s situation. The left-footed star has a contract at Anfield until 2023.

When Newcastle’s interest in Wilson was then shared on social media, here’s how some of the St James’ Park faithful reacted…
