With several other Premier League clubs showing their ambition by investing heavily in the summer transfer window, the Newcastle support can only look on in envy as Rafael Benitez, sadly, has to tip-toe around the bargain-buckets to improve the depth of his squad.
The latest piece of speculation that has emerged this afternoon, courtesy of the excellent Sky Sports, suggests that Rafael is showing interest in a young left-back who is currently on the books of the French club, Paris Saint-Germain.
According to our source, Newcastle are looking to spend £7 million on Stanley N’Soki.
However, whilst we may have pointed out he’s on the books of Paris Saint-Germain, which may have got you all excited, we should point out that he has only actually made one appearance for the club.
Again, it looks as if Rafael is having to wheel-and-deal and hope that the French U20 left-back can not only stand up to the pressure of Premier League football but also thrive. In our opinion, it’s a big ask.
But, looking on the bright side, we could be bringing to the club a youngster who could be a mainstay of the side for years to come.
It’s the risk we’re continually having to take, but that’s life as a Newcastle United supporter, at the moment, is it not!
