Newcastle “Preparing Bid” For World Cup Star

|

Transfer expert, Ekrem Konur has claimed that Newcastle are preparing a bid for Chelsea and USA midfielder, Christian Pulisic in January.

Newcastle were linked with Pulisic in the summer but the move never materialised. Possibly as part of the Premier League shut-out, we found ourselves in where no top-flight club would deal with us unless they managed to wangle an exorbitant fee for their players.

The Express believes that Pulisic could well be Newcastle’s only incoming deal in January and that deal will be offset by a trio of players leaving St James’ Park to cover the fee.

Ryan Fraser has been placed on the transfer list ahead of the window and it’s believed that Jamaal Lascelles and Chris Wood will also be made available. The hope being that the combined income from all three transfers will be around the £23m mark with Pulisic likely to cost around the same, maybe a touch more.

The 24-year-old American is running down his contract at Chelsea as he’s been reduced to a bit-part player, so it would make sense for them to cash in on the winger sooner rather than later, and Newcastle are looking to add a bit of extra spice to their attack and someone with Pulisic’s Premier League experience would be a big advantage over the likes of Moussa Diaby who, not only hasn’t played in England, but also would cost over twice what we could pick up Pulisic for.

Personally, I’m still clinging on to hope that a deal can be made for James Maddison, but if we have to wait until the summer for that one, then Christian Pulisic isn’t a bad deal to make in the meantime.
