It’s hard to go into any Newcastle game at the moment and be optimistic. We’re struggling in all competitions at present, and the last gasp win against Blackburn Rovers did little to change that perspective.
However, Ayoze Perez is feeling more positive after the game, and he thinks that the win against Blackburn should give the Magpies confidence heading into the weekend tie with Cardiff City.
As per the Chronicle Live, he said: “There is nothing better than getting back to the dressing room after a win, it’s just great”.
He continued: “That is going to help us. It is a good feeling and now we must transfer it to Saturday’s game against Cardiff”.
Of course, it’s always tough getting that first win when you’re going through a tough patch, and so it’s important that the Magpies look to build on their win against Rovers, even if it was somewhat underwhelming.
If we can find some form and get that winning feeling back, we could be in good shape heading into the crucial closing stages of the Premier League season.
If we had lost against Blackburn, our season would ahve been left in tatters. With no January signings and no recent wins, we’d have nothing to smile about. However, you can’t underestimate the importance of this win.
It could really help turn things around – starting this weekend.
