The club are looking to make a last-ditch attempt to sign a left back before the close of the transfer window with Monaco’s Jorge being targeted, according to Le10 Sport.
Take this report with a pinch of salt as the French publication are not the most reliable source, but representatives of the Ligue One side have reportedly told them that we are keen to sign the Brazilian international.
However, at this stage, the odds of securing a deal for the fullback look slim. No transfer fee has been agreed as of yet, and Le10 Sport have described negotiations as being “complicated.”
Jorge has been at Monaco for the last 18 months after joining from Flamengo in January 2017. He is just 22 years of age, but he was a regular first-team player for Leonardo Jardim’s side last season.
The defender has had problems with knee injuries. He made just 27 appearances in all competitions last campaign due to fitness issues, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
