We have enquired about signing Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to TEAMtalk.

The Blues are said to be looking to offload the 28-year-old just a year after signing the player from Leicester City for £35m.

Drinkwater could be heading back to the Foxes with his former club having made it known that they are willing to pay £20m to bring the player back to the King Power.

However, we have also made an enquiry, as well as Southampton and Crystal Palace. The England international would not be the number 10 we are believed to be looking for, but he could be a replacement for Mikel Merino.

The Spaniard left for Real Sociedad earlier this month, and while Ki Sung-Yueng did come in, the loan departure of Jack Colback, and the possible exit of Isaac Hayden, means were are light in central midfield.

Whether we would be able to afford Chelsea’s asking price for the player, it is debatable. What do you think? Should we sign Drinkwater? Let me know in the poll:
