Newcastle Looking To Get International Striker On The Cheap

|

Whilst it is being suggested that Newcastle United will not become involved in the chase for the Aston Villa player, Jack Grealish, as reported in an earlier article today, Click Here.

That doesn’t appear to be the case when it comes to another player plying his trade in England’s second city, Birmingham.

According to the news source, the Northern Echo, Newcastle are very much interested in signing the West Bromwich Albion striker, Salomon Rondon.

The 28-year-old is, according to a clause in his contract, available for £16 million.

Our source suggests that Rondon would prove to be an ideal replacement for Islam Slimani who had a disappointing loan spell when on loan from Leicester City.

At a time when transfer fees appear to be spiralling out of control, £16 million could be a sound investment.

However, it’s also suggested that Newcastle won’t be the only Premier League club looking to secure the services of the Venezuelan striker.

Here at Vital Newcastle, we’d welcome the signing of a player who, on his day, looks to be top-notch, but whether, during any discussions that will inevitably take place, Rondon would fancy a move to Tyneside remains to be seen.

We can only keep our fingers crossed and hope this one works out in our favour.
