Newcastle Linked To Dusan Vlahovic Again – But This Makes Zero Sense

|

Italian media has reached a new level of weird with Calciomercato claiming that Newcastle are in the hunt for Dusan Vlahovic.

The link with Vlahovic itself isn’t that crazy. It’s not the first time that name has popped up on the Newcastle United radar, and let’s be honest, he’d be one hell of a signing for Eddie Howe.

But the problem with the story comes from the fact that Calciomercato are claiming that for the deal to happen we’d have to use Alexander Isak as part of the deal.

Our record signing, Isak, has made just three appearances for the club before getting injured on international duty. He’s due to make a return to the squad when the season resumes later next month.

Would You Give Up Isak For Vlahovic?

Yes

No

In those three appearances, Isak bagged two goals plus one that was contentiously disallowed. We got a glimpse of what a star we have on our hands in the brief appearances he’s made for the club, and fans can’t wait to see what the Swedish international can do when he returns from injury, and how he will fit into the team that is doing so well in the league.

The thought that we would spend £60m on a player for them to play just three games before being used as a makeweight for another player is frankly laughable. But what’s even more laughable is the fact that Calciomercato, who admit the deal is unlikely to go ahead, don’t see the Isak thing as the issue, more that Juventus wouldn’t want to sell.

I’ll no doubt get grief for even covering this one, but some things are just so crazy they have to have a spotlight shone on them.
