What a strange 24 hours it’s been – even by our standards – and there seems plenty more twists and turns to come.
The Magpies went into last night’s game probably thinking about damage limitation but a gutsy display against an off-colour Manchester City side saw us earn a huge, deserved three points.
Certainly, it was some performance from the Toon and it appears as though we could now see a bit of a transfer whirlwind take place in the coming hours.
We have until tomorrow to get some deals done and according to Sacha Tavolieri we’ve been in advanced talks with Anthony Kimbombe over a potential move:

Certainly, this would be a potentially good signing with the player possessing plenty of explosive ability.
We need players to come in and add some much-needed thrust and pace and Kimbombe would do that.
Whether the advanced talks progress, though, is of course a different kettle of fish with our club.
