Newcastle In Talks To Bring Venezuelan Striker To The Club

|

If my maths are right, there are now just ten days to go before the transfer window slams shut.

Rafael Benitez has very little time left to finish his wheeling and dealing.

Here at Vital Newcastle United, we’re expecting a couple of players to be signed but that may be it.

One player who could be arriving at St James Park, according to the news source, Sky Sports, is the West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon.

The 28-year-old Venezuelan striker has been linked with a move to Newcastle for most of the transfer window.

Now, it would seem, if our referenced source has its facts right, a deal could be set to be done.

Our quoted source is of the opinion that talks have started between the two clubs to get a deal finalised.

One option being mentioned is a possible deal that would see Dwight Gayle move in the opposite direction.

But, here at Vital Newcastle United, what do we think of a possible/probable deal?

On his day Rondon looks a damn decent striker, his pace and power get the fans out of their sets but, too often, when I’ve seen him, it’s fair to say he can be a little erratic, especially with his finishing.

But, in times when the club are never, in the present ownership climate, going to spend big, if Rondon does join our club let’s all get behind him, he could turn out to be the bargain of the summer, you just never know.
