On Wednesday Newcastle United’s social media team took to Twitter to announce midfielder Jack Colback’s 29th year on the planet.

The former Sunderland man was on a hiding to nothing for some fans given his background, but having made the switch back in the summer of 2014, he did rack up a total of 102 appearances for the club, with 94 of those being starting appearances and he returned five league goals across those games.
Having slipped down the pecking order in recent times, he spent the second half of 2017/18 out on loan with Nottingham Forest, and he returned to the City Ground over the summer for another spell – both spells have him on 27 appearances with a return of one goal so far.
It sparked a mixture of reactions, some from Newcastle and a few from Nottingham Forest fans themselves. The main trend seemed to be that most fans had forgotten about his existence.
Our (abysmal) owner owns Sports Direct so you should be aware of the no returns policy ????♂️

Ah, forgot he was still contracted to the club…
You're already down because you've not managed to win 9 games in a row, and this face pops up. #NUFC pic.twitter.com/hW4aQFKIjf— NUFC 360 (@NUFC360) October 24, 2018
