Newcastle could face a tough battle in convincing £18m-rated attacker to stay – report

Ayoze Perez could push for a move out of the club, according to The Chronicle.

They say that even though the Spaniard has two years remaining on his contract, unless talks get underway soon, he will want a transfer away from St James’ Park.

Following a good season, in which he finished as the club’s top-scorer, he has attracted interest from the continent.

Valencia, Real Betis, and Lazio have all shown a desire to sign the 25-year-old.

El Dorsal claim he will be moving this summer and name Valencia as his destination.

Perez is valued at £18million by Transfermarkt, but at this point, there is no indication on how much it would cost a club to acquire his services.

Newcastle’s second-top scorer from last season, Salomon Rondon, has returned to West Brom, so allowing Perez to go would leave the club short of options in the striking department.

Perez has spent five years on Tyneside, and at this juncture, the supporters wouldn’t blame him for wanting out. The Spaniard earns £45,000-a-week, according to Spotrac, whilst Charlie Austin – who scored two league goals last season – earns £70,000-a-week at Southampton.
