Newcastle Among Three Teams Eyeing Up Move For Danish International Ace

|

We are one of three teams keeping an eye on RB Leipzig striker Youssef Poulsen, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website reports that West Ham and Everton are also interested in the Danish international.

The club have had a bid rejected by Nice for forward Alassane Plea and Poulsen may be seen as a possible alternative for us to strengthen our striking options.

Now Denmark are out of the World Cup, a move for the Bundesliga ace could now be stepped up.

One of the major concerns about signing the Dane would be his goalscoring record. Although he played 41 times in all competitions for Leipzig last campaign, he hit the back of the net only five times.

In contrast, Plea scored 21 goals in all competitions for Nice last season, but with the Chronicle reporting that the Ligue One side want £27million for the forward, we will have to wait and see whether we’ll match their asking price.
