Newcastle Agree On A Decent Fee For Unwanted Striker

|

Yesterday, in our daily sweep of the news relating to Newcastle United, we felt the necessity to remind the club that with the transfer window closure fast approaching, it was perhaps prudent to move a bit quicker to get a sale confirmed with regards to Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Our article, Click Here, highlighted the fact that as well as the fact the transfer window closes earlier this season, the two clubs involved in the possible deal were bickering over the price.

Thankfully, some 24-hours after, the deal now looks set to go ahead.

Our associates at Sky Sports, are reporting that the two clubs, after several days of talks, are set to conclude a deal with our source implying that the two clubs have agreed on a transfer fee of £22 million for the 23-year-old which could rise to £27 million depending on add-ons.

Mitrovic, in order to complete his part of the deal, left the Newcastle United training camp, in Portugal, to journey to Craven Cottage.

Rafael Benitez, speaking to the media after Newcastle had played FC Porto in a friendly fixture, had this to say:

Whilst also indicating the funds received will be used to strengthen the squad:

Has anyone any suggestions as to who they’d like to see the money spent on?
