The signing of the Swiss international centre-back, Fabian Schar, could prove to be a decent bit of business.
With Newcastle being hit by the injury to Florian Lejeune, Schar has the opportunity to become an integral member of our defence.
Signed from the Spanish outfit, Deportivo La Coruna, for a meagre £3 million, the defender is keen to make an impression in the Premier League and is quoted by Sky Sports, as having remarked,
“The Premier League is the best league in the world, you have so many good players and many good teams.
“Almost everybody can beat everybody so that is what I am looking forward to.
“With the great stadiums and all the fans it’s going to be fantastic next season. I’m really happy to be here. England is the best league in the world.”
Indeed, it is, it may not have teams of the quality that La Liga possesses but it is by far the most competitive with any team, on their day, being capable of beating the other.
However, delving into the world of the social media networks, it’s hard to find anyone leaving anything negative about the signing of the Swiss defender with the following being typical of what we discovered:

Decent signing, loads of experience #NUFC

Let’s hope Schar slips into the heart of the defence alongside Jamaal Lascelles with the greatest of ease.
