New CEO Excited About Midfielder Spending His Best Years At Newcastle

|

Newcastle United’s recently appointed CEO, Darren Eales has been speaking about Miguel Almiron in a recent interview.

Not many people at the club will have a better insight into the mind of Miggy than Darren Eales given that the Paraguayan was one of the first players Eales brought to Atlanta United when he started that club from scratch.

Now Eales has made the same journey from Atlanta to Newcastle as Miggy just in time to see Almiron hit his peak form, the former Tottenham CEO is hoping that Almiron will spend the best part of his career on Tyneside, and given his recent form, I don’t think many would argue with him.

Who is this Newcastle flop?

As reported in The Chronicle, Eales said: “Look, I mean it’s funny, because Miggy was one of the first signings when I was at Atlanta, and it was his dream to come to the Premier League, so it was one of those strange ones where when you did the transfer, probably more than any other one, I was really pleased for Miggy as well.

“What I would say, is I saw what Miggy was capable of at Atlanta, and no one could doubt his passion, commitment and personality. He’s a great guy to have around.

“And I would say another shout out to Eddie and the team because I think what you’ve seen in everything Eddie’s done since he’s come in, it’s been about developing players.”

Eales continued: “No one’s more delighted than I am that you’ve seen Miggy really deliver.

Does Miggy Deserve A New Contract?

Yes. He's a key player now

Yes. He's a key player now

Steady on, it's a patch of form

“He’s top scorer at the moment in terms of the squad. He’s just one of a squad of players that are all working their hardest. Eddie’s got everyone bought in. That’s a really exciting thing for Newcastle fans. You can see they’ve got that buy in. He also understands the club and culture.”

It is believed that Newcastle are set to offer Almiron a contract extension with his current deal set to expire in two years, the Magpies want to make sure he’s tied down for the foreseeable future, and you can’t say he hasn’t earned it.
