Newcastle United have struggled to find consistency in the Premier League so far this season, winning just one of their opening 11 matches.
The biggest problem has been in front of goal as Rafael Benitez’s side have found the back of the net just seven times so far this season, which means that there is plenty of room for improvements over the course of the coming months.
As fans start to debate what activity their club could do when the market reopens in January, many were stunned by the performance of Luuk De Jong for PSV Eindhoven against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.
A player who failed to impress during his time with Newcastle, De Jong found the back of the net just a few minutes into the clash with Mauricio Pochettino’s side and Magpies fans struggled to believe it was the same player that wore their shirt.
