Rafa Benitez has had more than a lasting imprint left on the city of Newcastle such has been the influence and complete change of mood around the football club.

Along with that side of things, there’s been the breaking of many records and hoodoos banished but not all.

Tha last hoodoo involved the ability to win on a Monday and that went back a number of years. Tonight’s visit of Burton sees another.

The fact that we haven’t won two home games back to back for three and a half years, November 2013 to be exact, is just one that needs to be sorted and fast.

The 2-1 win at home to West Brom at the end of that November following on from the same score against Norwich a week earlier in what was the end of a four game winning streak that had seen us beat Chelsea and Spurs away.

Burton being as good a chance as any to sort this fact out in what is the first ever meeting at St James’. Some might say the pressure is on us but Burton need the points to survive and their win away to Huddersfield may be the incentive needed for us to try that bit harder and try to achieve promotion points first before any hoodoo comes into play.
