Having finally met the £100m asking price Ashley lumped on the club, it looks like the wrangling with Barclays over the club`s overdraft facility continues afresh. The club finally confirmed to The Journal this weekend that:

“The £100m asking price has been matched, however, we are still in negotiations and all parties involved are at sale and purchase stage.”

This contrasts however with the news that Ashley looks set to ditch Derek Llambias in a new fan friendly management structure which will allow him the wiggle room he needs to make it to next summer and a possible promotion.
