The Newcastle training ground will have filled up again with those who’ve been away on international duty returning to the daily grind.

Some who have been away playing World Cup qualifiers will be returning with a spring in their step but a few others will want to forget all about it.

Certainly Paul Dummett of Wales and Matt Ritchie of Scotland who missed their respective teams games as it was through injury, will not have enjoyed the fate of their sides as they both crashed out.

Wales lost to Ireland and saw their play off hopes and distant group winning dream shattered as Aleksandar Mitrovic’s Serbian side won through. Ireland awaiting their play off draw fate next week with Ciaran Clark playing the full game and Rob Elliot being on the bench.

Scotland could only draw their game to Slovakia to miss out on goal difference.

Deandre Yedlin’s USA side went out controversially in part to a Panama side overtaking them courtesy of a goal that didn’t look like it had crossed the line although as far as things stand, they’re out.

England went through last week with talk that Jamaal Lascelles and Jonjo Shelvey may have a chance of reaching the World Cup squad but I wouldn’t hold the breath as players down South get picked on what shirt they wear whilst ours have to do miracles to get involved. It’s not our loss though.

Christian Atsu’s Ghana side went out whilst Atsu sat out injured and Chancel Mbemba will find out the fate of his Congo side next month when the final round of fixtures play out.

Congo currently lie 3 points behind Tunisia with both games having home games to finish. If Congo win and Tunisia suffer an unlikely defeat then Mbemba will be off to Russia also.
