Aleksandar Mitrovic has been called up by Serbia for their next game, Newcastle have confirmed.

The game to be played against Wales is a World Cup Qualifying match and will be played in Serbia’s Crvena Zvezda Stadium next month.

‘Mitro’ scored in Serbia’s last qualifier when they went to Georgia to win 3-1 and he always seems to do well for them whenever I watch him play.

Serbia currently lie top of Group D with Mitrovic scoring 4 goals in total in the Serb’s World Cup qualifying campaign with a goal the last time they faced Wales to go with a brace against Austria as well as the one mentioned above in Georgia.

Mitrovic has an international record of 8 goals in 27 games which is a goal every 3 games or so compared to his Newcastle record which sees 15 goals in 65 games. This is a record of a goal, just over, every 4 games.

The game against Wales is being screened by Sky Sports and is on Sunday 11th June.
