Aleksandar Mitrovic will be a player in demand this summer no doubt, following on from him grabbing his recent loan opportunity with both hands.
‘Mitro’, who is a typical marmite player for us with one side thinking he is just a raw talent that can’t finish a dinner and the other thinking the sun shines out of his…… You get the gist, is almost certain to leave us with Rafa Benitez more than likely to stay although you can never really predict for certain.
As it is, today’s local paper, The Chronicle, have been trawling Twitter and the usual haunts to notice that Italian website calciomercato.com have linked Mitro with three English clubs in Burnley, Crystal Palace and West Ham. ‘The Ronny Gill’ also list Mitrovic’s former club Anderlecht, Marseille and Bordeaux.
For me, a lot of these links are just easy to make as you look at a club that will probably need a striker come Summer and join the dots, the same as those clubs linked in the past. In fact, you could go a step further and link clubs that have been interested in the past according to Sky Sports. Clubs like Brighton, Middlesboro, even Napoli were at one point but the only thing definite for me and especially so if Mitro has a good World Cup for Serbia and that there will be some sort of auction.
With us needing at least one quality striker, it all adds to the kitty that should blow last season’s budget out of the water.
Overall, Mitrovic’s 10 goals in 14 games for Fulham, overshadows his overall career stats as an almost 1 in 4 striker although he may have found his level.
