Another day, another signing. We can get used to this.

Thursday afternoon saw the incoming transfer of yet another player, another French one at that in the form of Massaido Haidara.

He’s a twenty year old, left footed left back. A position which we’ve been crying out for cover, for a number of years, pre Jose Enrique in fact.

Primarily, he’ll be in the development side or reserves as they’re normally known as but he will be expected to compete for the left back shirt at some point in the future. Hopefully not at the expense of Davide Santon who is starting to blossom into a cracking footballer.

Anyway,Haidara joins us from Nancy on a five and a half year contract for an undisclosed sum believed to be £3 million with him slotting straight into the squad number that Demba Ba vacated. Number 19.

Hopefully we get the same value.
