Martin Dubravka Could Complete Permanent Transfer This Week

|

Martin Dubravka spoke on the pitch after our last league game at home to Chelsea like a man that knew where his future lay and seemed to be at one with the mass of people chanting his name.

The loanee goalkeeper providing proof by his performances that he would be a player under demand if for some reason Newcastle United didn’t sign him up permanently but almost making it impossible for us not to with his price allegedly agreed at the start of his loan move and his price tag rocketing on the back of his standing now.

With almost two and a half weeks gone since the season-ending win and clean sheet for Dubravka, the only reminders of any sort of deal being in the pipeline are little snippets and sound bites from our local papers, The Chronicle and The Journal in that they continually say that a deal is edging closer but with the past history of Mike Ashley to go by and the seeming contractual standoff between him and Rafa Benitez, you can’t say for certain that this is a formality.

Personally, I think that things will have something to do with the end of this month being like some sort of end to the 2017/18 season and the financial situation confusing things a tad with the 2018/19 season starting the day after in essence and if I’m right we could see an announcement on Friday.
