New Newcastle signing Gutirrez maybe the subject of a legal battle. No he hasn’t gone and punched somebody in the street but the Real Mallorca president has said that
“We have claimed 15M euro (£11,879,221.01 at today’s prices) for the unilateral termination of the contract “without just cause.`”
“Mallorca will defend their interests.” As far as I understand it players can buy their way out of a contract if they are under 28 and have two years or less to go on their contract as long as they have spent three years at the club so I am not sure what if any legal grounds Mallorca have for making this legal challenge.
