Newcastle United are said to be keen on offloading winger Damien Duff due to his high-wages and lack of form, reports The Daily Mirror.

The newspaper also mentions Kris Commons, the Derby County left-sided player as a potential replacement.

Duff has had a torrid time with injury, and off-form spells at the Toon, and owner Mike Ashley is said to want the midfielder out of St. James’ Park to make way for younger, more hungry, and less-paid players.

Wigan Athletic are the other club linked with Commons, and Steve Bruce is set to test Derby’s resolve with a bid for the player in the next 24 hours.
