Plenty of Newcastle United fans have been reacting to the latest development concerning the club’s long-winded takeover saga.
The situation feels like it’s been going on forever, right? Same here. The sooner that Mike Ashley’s 13-year reign of terror comes to an end, the better.
Last month, it was reported that the retail tycoon came to a £300m agreement with the Saudi-backed PCP Capital Partners, which is a consortium made up from the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Dubai’s Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers.
Will PIF takeover the club?
Having faced intense scrutiny, the Express revealed that they are now ready to give Newcastle the green light and that an official announcement could be made in a matter of days.
Because of this, supporters exploded with delight and made their feelings crystal clear on social media. One fan said that this is starting to look promising, while another said that this is “surely getting nearer”.
