Let’s Get Carried Away – Opinion

|

Newcastle have been handed a relatively easy start to the 2022/23 season, opening with a home tie against newly promoted Nottingham Forest, followed by a trip to Brighton.

Our third game is the first big test as we play host to champions, Manchester City with our next big test coming two games later at Anfield. Following that, our next “top six” encounter isn’t until mid-October when we face Manchester United at Old Trafford, which will be game 11 of the season.

So, let’s get carried away ….. 24 points from the first ten games? 8 wins and two defeats. I’m sure we’d take that.

In all seriousness, Newcastle have a golden opportunity to get some points on the board early this time around. The club are notoriously slow starters, although last season took that a bit too far. Hopefully, with a new-found optimism around the place, Newcastle will find themselves firing on all cylinders from the get-go.

Whatever happens, it’s going to be a season to remember. Let’s just hope we get some players through the door, eh?

We’ve deffo got may hay In The first part of the season. SJP has to become a fortress as it once was so the fans have a part to play. Deffo an opportunity to build momentum early on and we must take it.
