“Hero” – A lot of Newcastle United fans remember Andy Cole’s time on Tyneside.
The former Newcastle striker’s birthday is today, and Newcastle’s official Twitter account wished him a happy birthday.
This led to a few Newcastle fans reminiscing over Cole’s spell as a Newcastle player.
Cole was signed by, then manager, Kevin Keegan and the Nottingham-born player became a massive hit on Tyneside with 68 goals in just 84 games.
Unfortunately, Cole was then snapped up by Manchester United for £7m, and he went on to win five Premier League titles with the Red Devils and ended up with 187 Premier League goals.
However, his spell with Newcastle was the most prolific of his career, and a lot of Toon fans will always fondly remember him.
These Newcastle fans are heaping praise on their former striker.
