Lee Charnley Is Heading Back Into Football

|

Have you ever had imposter syndrome in a job? That feeling that at any moment you’re going to be found out, that you can’t actually do the job you’re paid to do and you’re going to get sacked? Well, d0n’t worry, it’s clearly not a thing, I mean, look at Lee Charnley, he actually didn’t have a clue what he was doing at Newcastle United, but still, the higher-ups at Nottingham Forest have turned to him for help to stay in the Premier League.

That’s like asking a penguin for advice on how to fly.

According to The Athletic, Charnley has been asked to help Forest with their business arrangements, meaning that he won’t be overly involved in the football side of things i.e. transfers etc. It is believed that he has already started in the role, which isn’t a full-time position, and judging by the way Forest played on Saturday where they fell to a 2-0 defeat at St James’ Park, it seems like his influence has rubbed off already.

Can Charnley Help Forest?

Yeah, he's a good business man

Nothing good can come of this

It was beyond baffling to Newcastle fans how that man managed to keep his job right up to the departure of Mike Ashley, and even beyond during the transition period, but for another club to look at him and think “Him. That man. He’s the one we need” is truly astounding. I’ve always had a soft spot for Forest, and I would love them to stay up and do well, so I really hope this doesn’t blow up in their face.

Football, it really is a funny old game.

THINK YOU KNOW NEWCASTLE? WHO IS THIS FORMER MAGPIE?
