Journalist Dismisses Reports Of Newcastle Winger’s Potential Exit To Premier League Rival

|

Christian Atsu has been linked with a move to Huddersfield Town in recent days. Ghanasoccernet.com reported that the Terriers have been weighing up a bid for our no.30.

However, Huddersfield Daily Examiner journalist Mel Booth has dismissed the claims as “wide of the mark.” It is believed the Ghanaian is not a player who is at the top of David Wagner’s wishlist of potential targets.

The report goes on to say that Huddersfield may not sign any more players before the transfer window closes, although they haven’t ruled out a potential late purchase.

They did reportedly have a move for Club Brugge’s  Anthony Limbombe stall over the 24-year-old’s wage demands, and it seems their loss could be our gain with reports coming out of Belgium that we are interested in the Belgian international.

However, Atsu’s future seems to be firmly at St James’ Park, and it’s likely he’ll still be at the club when the window closes in eight days time.
