“Being a NUFC supporter is an extreme sport” – A lot of Newcastle United fans have reacted to the news that the attendances at St James’ Park are down by around 7,000 people this season.
The summer at NUFC saw Rafael Benitez depart the club and Steve Bruce arrive this led to a pledge from many Newcastle fans that they would not return to St James’ until Mike Ashley finally departed the club.
New statistics have revealed that the boycott is working and that the attendances are decreasing by the game.
Performances like Saturday are hardly like to entice fans back either.
One Newcastle fan has claimed that the dropping crowds show how some Toon fans are falling out of love with their club.

The chance of me stepping foot inside St James’ Park again while it’s Bruce Ashley F.C? pic.twitter.com/LRA12lejCC

Still over 6,000 unsold for Man U after it’s been on general sale for a few days. That says a lot.

I’ve stopped going to the games but talking to people who were there on saturday and they all say there was nowhere near 43k there. Season tickets are very expensive and you’d have to assume that the 1000s of ST holders currently not attending may not renew for next season.
