Newcastle United’s prospective £300m takeover continues to rumble on well into July, so you’d think the buyers would be tired and looking to jump ship sometime soon? Wrong.
According to The Athletic’s George Caulkin, the Saudi Arabian backers are much the opposite, in fact, they are even more determined as this whole process drags on towards a fourth month.

Saudi’s public investment fund is set to land 80% of the Magpies, if and when the deal is approved by the Premier League, though it remains to be seen when that might be.
The top-flight have been conducting an owners and directors test for the majority of the past four months but they are still yet to come to an official outcome.
