‘It’d be one hell of a coup’ – Some Newcastle fans have their say on exciting transfer chat

Newcastle fans have been reacting on social media to the news the club have a deal in place to sign Joelinton.

According to The Telegraph, the Magpies have agreed a fee with Hoffenheim for the Brazilian, believed to be £36million.

The 22-year-old scored seven goals and provided seven assists in 28 Bundesliga matches last season and is valued at £31.5million by Transfermarkt. He only signed a new contract last November and has three years remaining on his contract.

Despite the deal being in place between the clubs, the article suggests the deal is dependant on Newcastle’s manager situation.

They say: “The need to have a manager in place is growing more urgent by the day as they also need him to give the green light to that transfer.”

The Telegraph believes Steve Bruce will be appointed following his resignation from Sheffield Wednesday.

Some fans took to Twitter to share their opinions on whether Joelinton would be a good signing for the club.

One stated ‘just saying if that’s true, mark my words he will be better than Rondon last season for Newcastle whilst another added a player like that working under someone like Bruce still fills me with 0 interest.’
