It Could Be Farewell For Fraser

|

It has been reported that Newcastle are ready to listen to offers for the Scottish international in January.

Ryan Fraser has seen his stock fall at St James’ Park this season, with the winger spending more time on the bench than on the hallowed turf. The former Bournemouth man had played a part in last season’s great escape but found himself pushed down the pecking order, thanks, in part, to the upturn in form of Miguel Almiron.

It has been obvious that Fraser has not been part of Eddie Howe’s plans in this campaign. An injury-plagued season for fellow winger Allan Saint-Maximan was an opportunity for the Scot to come back into the team, but Howe favoured Jacob Murphy and even played Joelinton and Joe Willock out wide from time to time.

Let’s not forget that Howe and Fraser have a history. The pair had worked together at Bournemouth, but their relationship ended acrimoniously after Fraser refused to sign a new deal at the south coast club.

So now it looks like the player’s stay on Tyneside is coming to an end, and he will be hoping that he will be able to garner some interest from other Premier League teams. [The Telegraph]

We should wish the speedy winger well in his future endeavours, but also get excited by the fact that Howe will surely be looking for a quality new wide man when the January window comes around.
