Whilst many on social media are panicking at the seeming lack of activity ahead of Newcastle’s premier league campaign, talk remains calm on the streets.

Talk also remains calm from the major sporting partners of Newcastle with progress slow on some deals amidst the backdrop of fake football news still dominating the daily Newcastle circles.

Whilst one or two names have continued to be linked at regular intervals, other supposed big targets have seen their names dropped in favour of the next one although I remember who the original few were.

Targets like Andros Townsend, James McCarthy, Sam Clucas and Tom Cairney have seen their trails gone cold or forgotten and in their place a brand new list of around five, every single day.

Pepe Reina and Florian Lejeune remain the most popular linked players with talk in the chronicle that Reina is signing a new contract with a release clause one day and then turning one down the next.

Lejeune has been speculated to have agreed a deal with us ages ago and we reported on this. Talk in Spain today from Football Espana who quote Diario AS is that an announcement is forthcoming.

Personally I think with contracts running out on June 30th and deals seeing one year less on them that a lot will start from that point with there no need to panic yet.
