Have any of Newcastle’s recent signings been more disappointing than Kenedy? The Brazilian moved to St. James’ Park on a season-long loan after a strong half-season last term, and the deal made a lot of sense.
However, fast forward to 2019, and it’s fair to say that the Brazilian is no longer the popular player that he once was. Rather, a lack of form, fitness and quality has seen his reputation diminish, and he’s hardly had a kick for much of 2019.
Sure, Kennedy is trying to be positive, but one word sticks out amongst the rest in that statement – failure. There’s no denying that his second spell has been below par, and it’s clear that he’s failed to make an impact at Newcastle.
That means that, realistically, a long-term stay at the club is unlikely, and he doesn’t have anyone to blame but himself for that. It could have been so different.
