‘I’m available on a free’ – Some Newcastle fans react to news of another sale at St. James’ Park

Newcastle could be on the verge of selling Joselu, according to Mundo Deportivo.

They claim Spanish side Alaves are in advanced negotiations and expect him to be signed within the next few weeks.

Since his time in the Premier League he has scored 10 goals from his 68 appearances, and the most he scored in one league campaign was four, which he achieved twice for Stoke and once for the Magpies.

Last season in the black and white he managed to score just twice in 16 games and is valued at £3.6million by Transfermarkt.

Mundo Deportivo also claims Newcastle are willing to let the striker leave as he enters the last year of his contract, while also stating the player wants to leave Tyneside and return to Spain.

Many Newcastle supporters are happy the forward is leaving, although are worried that it leaves the club short in the attacking department.

Some fans pointed out that it only leaves Dwight Gayle and Yoshinori Muto as the only strikers in the first-team squad and took to Twitter to voice their concerns about who may play up-front next season.

One stated ‘I’m available on a free’ whilst another joked he was ‘devastated’ by the transfer.
