Word On The Tweet

‘I’ll keep my money in my pocket’ – Plenty of Newcastle fans react to match information

|

Newcastle fans were quick to fire criticism at the board on social media after the official club Twitter page posted an update regarding match information.

The Twitter post informed supporters that tickets were on sale for the pre-season friendly with Hibernian for ticket holders with 20 or more away loyalty points.

The Match is scheduled for Tuesday 30th July and will be the penultimate fixture before the Magpies kick-off the new Premier League campaign.

The price is £15 for adults, but judging by the mood of the Toon Army, it is unclear whether many would travel to Scotland if they were giving them away.

Some Newcastle fans have insisted on staying away from any games until the club is sold. That may be ok if there was a clear indication the current takeover bid was anywhere near completion.

It was the first Tweet the club had posted in three days, and the page received a lot of kickback on the previous one too, and that was just to wish Christian Atsu good luck in his Africa Cup of Nations match for Ghana.

The club will start the search for the next manager next week, once Rafa’s contract officially expires on Sunday, according to a report in the Shields Gazette.
