The latest in a long list of rumours circulated by the Daily Mirror regarding potential arrivals for the Toon is that of Ben Foster – the 26-year-old Manchester United keeper who is only used sparingly by the Red Devils, and is probably at this stage United’s third choice keeper behind Edwin van der Sar, and Thomas Kuszczak.

If only the reported deals had gone through for the Magpies since the start of the season, the team, and maybe even the position the club finds itself right now may have been different.
