Word On The Tweet

‘I’d rather paper cut my eyelids’, ‘Joke club’ – Many Newcastle fans respond to club update

Newcastle fans were fast to react on social media, following a club update regarding tickets for a pre-season game.

The proposed boycott appears to be having an impact because it is the third time in under two weeks the club have had to change the parameters of purchasing the tickets.

On the 28th June, their official Twitter account posted, tickets for Newcastle’s away pre-season match at Hibernian were on sale to season ticket holders with 20 or more away points.

Less than a week later they were back stating the tickets were now available to supporters that had 10 away points. And now they have posted they are available to all season ticket holders, regardless of points.

The indication from the fans is that the club have had to do it because many of them that would usually make the trip north are participating in the boycott.

Some fans took to Twitter to share their views on the matter with several making it clear that they would not be attending any games until Mike Ashley has sold the club.

One stated ‘good luck’ trying to sell those whilst another jokingly added ‘I’m washing my hair’ so will not be able to make it.
