Newcastle fans gave mixed reactions on social media after finding out some of the details in Rafa Benitez’s contract offer.
The Spaniard’s current deal expires at the end of June and he has a big offer on the table from China according to the Times.
NUFC360 claim the offer is a short-term extension and would be their final offer, and that includes a £50million transfer budget, which is non-negotiable.
According to the Chronicle Live, Newcastle have put a stop to player acquisitions until after the Bin Zayed Group takeover has been finalised, leaving the club in a state of limbo.
The Sun had earlier reported that the deal is progressing well and the Middle-East company expect the purchase to be completed by the end of the month.
They have already lost two of their best performers from last season, Salomon Rondon has returned to West Brom following his loan spell and Mo Diame was released after reaching the end of his contract. Now some fans do not believe £50million would be enough to improve the squad adequately.
Although some supporters are sympathetic to Rafa’s situation, some believe it may be the correct time for him to leave St James’ Park…
Rafa Benitez is unhappy with some of the details of the deal discussed, mainly around recruitment.
But #NUFC insist the contract on the table – understood to be a short-term extension – is their final offer, that a transfer budget of around £50million is non-negotiable. [☀️]— NUFC 360 (@NUFC360) June 20, 2019
If I was Benitez I would be so offended. I’m surprised he’s hung around, I really am.

Goodbye Rafa ????

That’s Rafa gone then. 50m is a joke in this current window. Wouldn’t even get you a mediocre Palace right back.

1 year extension suits the situation can easliy be extended soon as the new owners arrive.
Gives Rafa the option of leaving at the end of next season if the new owners don’t arrive
Hopefully he extends a year then decides longterm next year based on if the new owners come in????

It’s time people realise that RAFA IS LEAVING IN 10 DAYS. He’s not going to sign a new contract. #nufc
