Huge Transfer Boost As Rival Club Gives Up

|

Positive feelings have been surfacing around Newcastle recently with both deals for Hugo Ekitike and Sven Botman looking increasingly likely. The latter of which took another turn today as AC Milan seem to have finally conceded defeat in their chase for the Dutchman.

This is according to Tuttosport (via Sports Witness) who claim that, with AC Milan’s new owners tightening the purse strings, boss, Paulo Maldini, is focusing his attention on other positions so has “decided to give up” on Sven Botman.

If ever there was an indication that the Great Botman Saga Of 2022 is due to come to an end, this is it.

In addition to this good news, the Shields Gazette is running a story that Botman’s teammate has dropped a huge hint as to Botman’s future. Portuguese defender, Jose Fonte, who has been Botman’s defensive partner at Lille, was asked about Botman’s future prior to going on air on talkSPORT. According to presenter Jim White, Fonte responded: “Watch out for Newcastle on that one.”

It is starting to look like the next time we write about Botman it will be regarding some actual confirmed movement
