For a while in the Newcastle community, the question of whether or not Isaac Hayden should be called up to the England team has been a long-standing debate.
Quiet day on the #NUFC front with the international break in full swing. Isaac Hayden has discussed a potential England call-up. Safe to say that if he was at a London club he’d be on Southgate’s radar. Has been mostly excellent again so far this season.

Some believe that the former Arsenal prospect is well within his right to be named in Gareth Southgate’s squad for international games, whereas other Newcastle fans think that the midfielder just isn’t ready for the step up into the national game.
This question was recently brought up on widely followed fan account NUFC 360, and the most common answer was that Hayden was not ready to play for England based on better options being out there in the player pool.
Here is how some Newcastle fans reacted on Twitter to the question…
I disagree with this like. I believe Southgate deserves praise for giving players a chance. If you're good enough then you get in under this regime imo.

Not done enough this season to warrant a place imo

I’m generally happier when our players don’t get called up.

I saw Delph against wolves on Sunday and thought he was the best player on the pitch. Oxlade chamberlain is on another planet compared to Hayden

Hayden has played every minute of Premier League football so far this season as numbers from Transfermarkt show.
