I know we’d have liked a few more signings to come in over the January window but at least there were some arrivals before the deadline passed.
The main signing, of course, was Miguel Almiron and I look forward to seeing what he can do.
A record signing for us, too, he certainly has plenty of expectation riding on him and hopefully he will flourish under the pressure.
Meanwhile, one player leaving yesterday was Jacob Murphy as he left for a loan deal to West Brom.
A player that loves our club, it’s not worked out quite yet for him but plenty of us want it to and so hopefully the winger will find some confidence and form in the final months of the season.
Indeed, he leaves us with plenty of well-wishes into the bargain – as demonstrated by the reaction from fans on Twitter:
Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy has joined @WBA on loan until the end of the season. Good luck, Jacob!

I’m well Happy that we got a record signing & a left back… But with No Replacement for him we’re Now down on Numbers with the other Loans we let go out aswell. We had a thin Squad to Start with!!
