Yesterday, down in South Wales, it was a somewhat eventful afternoon for Isaac Hayden.
The youngster came off the bench, at half-time, to replace the injured Javier Manquillo.
Sadly, for Hayden, his participation was nothing but a short cameo role with the player being shown a straight red card after a poor tackle from behind.
Following his indiscretion, Hayden took to social media to offer an apology:
Have to appologise to everyone for today, was a needless tackle and one that was stupid from me in that circumstance in the game. Will learn from it for sure and will be doing my upmost to repair my mistake today, for my teammates, manager and staff and fans in the future #NUFC

However, his apology was met with a mixed response from the Newcastle United support.
Many, as can be seen below, accepted the apology suggesting we all move on together:
Chin up lad. We win and lose together

However, just as many are of the opinion his red-card was cold and calculated, jumping on to the bandwagon that suggests the player doesn’t want to be a the club and engineered the sending off:
Looked like you wanted to do it! Not one to get on the back of our own but it looked like the challenge of someone that wants out and was trying to push a move #justsaying

Admire you for admitting you’re wrongs. However it looked like from the moment you came on the pitch you were looking to get sent off.
Just hope it coincidence that you want to spend time with the family then suddenly you get a 3 match ban. Enjoy family time Isaac.— Black cloud (@Blackcloud1603) August 18, 2018
Regardless of what he has done in the past it’s obvious he doesn’t want to be here. Completely spat his dummy out yesterday and was totally unprofessional . He is paid a good wage to represent Newcastle.
From the moment he came on he wanted to get sent off. Needless foul .— Black cloud (@Blackcloud1603) August 19, 2018
It seems we are a hard bunch to please, but, surely, Hayden was a victim of his own over-enthusiasm and wasn’t, as some believe, being so unprofessional as to purposely get sent off to further his own ambitions.
