Alan Shearer is normally a very popular man with Newcastle fans, but not on this day, it seems. Indeed, the St. James’ Park legend has managed to rile up more than a few Geordies over on Twitter over his Team of the Week choices.

There are some valid inclusions on the list. Sean Longstaff immediately jumps out, for example, with the Newcastle man impressing more and more with every passing week.
However, Newcastle fans online have noticed one glaring omission – Miguel Almiron. The Paraguayan enjoyed a very good game over the weekend, and given that it was his first major breakthrough in the first team at Newcastle, not including him is a strange one from Shearer.
Unsurprisingly, lots of Newcastle fans have been quick to point out the decision to Shearer, and it’s fair to say that they are questioning him. See below:
