Newcastle supporters have got a lot of central defenders to get behind. The Likes of Jamaal Lascelles, Federico Fernandez, Fabian Schar and Ciaran Clark are all fit and available, but the man that these Geordies are desperate to see is currently on his way back to fitness.

Of course, we’re talking about Florian Lejeune, and the Frenchman made his return to action for the club as he featured during the week as the Newcastle U23 side drew 2-2 against their Middlesbrough counterparts. After the draw, the defender took to Twitter, though, and the fans loved it.
So far in his career in the North East, Lejeune has made 37 appearances for the club (Transfermarkt), however, in his time at St. James’ Park he’s also struggled with injuries, suffering back-to-back serious knee injuries (Transfermarkt), although now he’s on the brink of yet another return.

The fans quite obviously love Lejeune, and when he returns there will be a reason for celebration amongst the fans.
