Get The Advent Calendars Out – 21 Days Until Proper Football Returns

|

December is here and that means we’re in the month when beloved club football returns.

We’re halfway through the World Cup, and despite England progressing into the round of 16, I still don’t have “World Cup Fever”. Yeah it’s nice to see a couple of our lads out there representing their country, but this World Cup just isn’t what a World Cup should be, the setting, the timing, the politics, it’s all just tarnished the experience.

So I don’t know about you, but I’m eagerly awaiting the return of proper football. Friday mornings haven’t been the same without a half hour of Eddie Howe with my coffee. Weekends without the Toon just aren’t the same.

Which Are You Most Excited For In December?

Club Football

World Cup

Thankfully, due to our Carabao Cup exploits, we return to duty a few days sooner than the Premier League with a cup tie at home to Bournemouth scheduled for 21st December. Christmas truly is coming early. Then we’re back in action on Boxing Day as we made the trip to the Walkers King Crisp Power Stadium to take on Leicester City which will be shown live on Amazon Prime Video so you can stay in bed while you suffer with the Boxing Day bloat and watch the game on your phone while your kids shriek down the house asking for batteries.

We do still have a couple of friendlies to come in this month too with our games against Al-Hilal in Riyadh and the home tie against Rayo Vallecano on the 8th and 17th of December respectively. We’re still waiting to hear if either of those games will be streamed on NUFC TV.

So, to paraphrase a famous song – It’s coming back, it’s coming back, football’s coming back.
